Abstract

The Eight Methods of Wu Style Qigong are gathering, circulating, guiding, balancing, spiraling, blending, synthesizing, and storing, and are comprised of thirteen related exercises. These 8 methods vary from the Eight Gates of Taijiquan which are: Peng (Evaluate and Ward Off), Lu (Roll Back and Follow), Ji (Press Through a Limb), An (Push Down), Cai (Pluck), Li (Twist), Jou (Elbow), and Kou (Lean with the Shoulder). The exercises progress, build, and systemically encourage the movement of qi throughout the body by simply following the movements of the form.
