Abstract

As a common complication of stroke, constipation not only causes reabsorption of toxin substances, but also increases intracranial pressure during bowel movements. Both may aggravate stroke and even lead to severe consequences like myocardial infaction. Therefore, a convenient and effective approach for treating constipation is crucial for the treatment of acute cerebral infarction. We have treat 35 acute cerebral infarction patients with Tui-pushing the large intestine meridian plus point sticking at Tianshu (ST 25) to observe its prevention effects for post-stroke constipation.
