Abstract
This review paper collects the publications in a new emerging field: applying imaging techniques to acupuncture study. These techniques include x-ray; CAT; EEG; MEG; SPECT; fNIRS; PET; and fMRI. These imaging techniques are being applied to basic studies of acupuncture mechanisms, and clinical trials of acupuncture applications. This is the first part of a three-part series.
