Abstract
Little historical information about the teishin and its use, from ancient times to the Edo period, has been found. Therefore, Japan's history of acupuncture basically centers around filiform needles. The teishin became more popular in Showa period after it was "unearthed" by the famou acupuncturist Yanagiya Sorei, along with Inoue Keiri, Ono Bunkei, and others who began using it in treatments and ushered in a period of development.
