Abstract

Allergic rhinitis is a kind of allergic reaction which increases relative to certain allergens outside which causes pathological changes of the nasal mucosa. It belongs to the category of "biqiu" in Traditional Chinese Medicine. It is believed that the internal disease mechanism is related to dysfunction of the lung, spleen, kidney, as well as individual and innate constitution. External causes are mainly the six excesses which invade the nose. In modern medicine, it is believed that allergic rhinitis is the release of the medium (mainly histamine) mediated by IgE after the patient is exposed to allergens, and that there are a variety of immune active cells and cytokines involved in chronic inflammation of the nasal mucosa. The authors used acupuncture to treat this disease from October 2010 to October 2013, the compared with traditional drug treatment.
