Abstract

Hicups are a common complication following stroke, characterized by gastric air reflux, causing an involuntary frequent short 'hic' sound. We adopted scalp and body acupuncture to treat 78 cases of post-stroke hiccups during August 2007 and December 2008, and compared it with traditional body acupuncture.
