Abstract

Menstrual pain occurs primarily throughout the menstruation period and is defined by the presence of strong menstrual cramps, lower back pain and, depending on the individual, nausea and headaches. Medically speaking these symptoms are generally called menstrual pain. The primary cause is thought to be contractions of the endometrium due to the hormones released during menstruation. Some discomfort from menstrual pain is normal but some individuals feel pain to the extent that it affects their daily life.
