Abstract
Objective: Working on seminal plasma acid phosphatase, to explore the mechanism by which acupuncture improves sperm quality (concentration, viability and motility) in infertility patients. Methods: A total of 118 patients received acupuncture-moxibustion treatment. Before and 3, and 6 months after the treatment were detected their seminal plasma acid phosphatase, sperm concentration, sperm viability and sperm motility were measured. Results: The differences between before and after treatments in sperm motility and seminal plasma acid phosphatase levels were statistically significant (P<0.01). Conclusion: Acupuncture-moxibustion can improve seminal plasma acid phosphatase levels in infertility patients.
