Abstract

Objective: To observe the clinical efficacy of acupuncture in the treatment of dysfunctional uterine bleeding in adolescent girls. Methods: One hundred and seventeen subjects were randomized into two groups, a treatment group in which 87 cases were treated by acupuncture and moxibustion, and a control group in which 30 cases were treated by western medications. The clinical efficacy was observed after treatment. Results: The total effective rate was 97.7% in the treatment group and 86.7% in the control group, with better efficacy in the treatment group than in the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion: Acupuncture and moxibustion is quite effective for adolescent dysfunctional uterine bleeding.
