Abstract

We look at 24 patients over the age of 40 who received continuous acupuncture for two years or more. Eighteen were treated with TCM (standard Oriental Medicine): 11 obtained results categorized as being from good to remission; the other seven experienced a 50% improvement. Six cases were treated by shakuju therapy: of these, five cases reported good results and one patient was 50% better. Five cases prior to acupuncture treatment had been diagnosed with and treated conventionally for malignant diseases; after treatment there were no recurrences and no new development of malignant disease. There was one case of acute myocardial infarction which was resolved with the insertion of a stent. Final assessments were made by physicians and surgeons.
