Abstract

Objective: to observe the clinical effect of plucking on trigger points for lumbodorsal myofascial pain syndrome. Method: 60 cases were randomly divided into a treatment group (30 cases) and a control group (30 cases). The treatment group was treated with trigger point plucking while the control group was treated with conventional tuina therapy. Each group was treated for two courses. The effect was then observed. Result: before and after treatment, there were significant differences between each group in VAS score, tenderness, low back tension and low back function activity scores. After treatment, there was no significant in VAS scores in either group, but tenderness, low back tension and low back function activity scores were all better in the treatment group. The healing rate and total effective rate of the treatment group were significantly higher than those of the control group. Conclusion: plucking on trigger points can effectively reduce the pain of lumbodorsal myofascial pain syndrome. In terms of reducing tenderness, improving tension and low back function activity scores, as well as healing and total effective rate, plucking on trigger points is superior to that of conventional tuina therapy.
