Abstract

Objective: to compare the clinical effect of herbal fumigation combined with acupuncture to acupuncture alone for diabetic peripheral neuropathy. Methods: 60 cases of diabetes patients diagnosed in our hospital from January 2014 to January 2015 were selected and divided into the control and experimental groups according to the disease condition and ratio of women to men. Acupuncture combined with herbal fumigation compared to acupuncture alone, and the practical effect of herbal fumigation with acupuncture on the diabetic peripheral neuropathy was studied during the real-time examination, via record review and by data analysis. Results: the comparisons of clinical effect and related blood glucose indices show that the curative effect of herbal fumigation and acupuncture therapy for diabetic peripheral neuropathy is more obvious than the effect of acupuncture without herbal fumigation; therefore, it is worth large-scale promotion. Conclusion: diabetes mellitus arises from a combination of factors, including: genetics, obesity, overeating, insufficient activity and other instigators. One of the complications of diabetes, diabetic peripheral neuropathy, has a very high incidence, and is the focus of this paper.
