Abstract
Objective: to observe the curative effect of puerarin decoction with cassia twig and auricular acupoint plaster combined with acupuncture in the treatment of tension headache. Methods: cassia twig with pleurarin decoction (cassia twig, radix paeonia alba, ginger, radix liquiritiae, radix puerariae, et al.) was combined with auricular acupoint plaster and acupuncture to treat 38 tension headache patients. Ibuprofen was administered to 38 patients as a control. Results: the total effective rate of treatment was 89.5% compared to the 65.8% in the control group. Conclusion: cassia twig with puerarin decoction combined with auricular acupoint plaster and acupuncture produced a satisfactory clinical curative rate for tension headache.
