Abstract

Allergic rhinitis refers to an inflammation of the nasal mucosa resulting from the bodily hypersensitivity to some allergens. Due to multiple causative factors and a high incidence, allergic rhinitis can become persistant and intractable. In addition, many therapies may cause adverse reactions and thus compromise the long-term treatment effect. The authors of this article adopted external application of Chinese medicine following tapping points using a plum-blossom needle in the hottest summer days for allergic rhinitis.
