Abstract

Chronic diarrhea is a commonly encountered symptom in the diseases of the digestive system and is caused by a disturbance in secretive, digestive, absorptive and motor functions, leading to loose stools and frequent bowel movements. The condition lasted over 2 months is termed chronic diarrhea. We have treated 100 cases of the patients with chronic diarrhea by the needle warming moxibustion on specific acupoints, in comparison with the groups treated by oral administration of Smecta.
