Abstract

Cervical headache is a clinical syndrome characterized by headache and pain radiating to the neck, shoulder and arms. This is caused by unstable joints or soft tissue inflammation that irritates or compresses the vessels and nerves. Contributing factors include hyperplasia of the cervical spine, cervical intervertebral disc herniation, decreased intervertebral foramen, facet derangement and surrounding soft tissue injuries. Long-term sedentary lifestyle also played a role in developing this condition. We have treated 142 cases using combined tuina and acupuncture.
