Abstract
The Liver gets a bum rap. In standard textbook Chinese medicine (TCM) it is the bad guy. We call edgy, angry people "livery". If there's an issue with anger, the Liver gets the blame. When there's and trouble with emotions, we fix the crosshairs of treatment on the Liver. As simple as 2+2=4, we equate the Liver with a bad attitude, blame it for our own moods, and label patients who annoy us with some kind of Liver qi diagnosis.
