Abstract

Objective: to observe the clinical effect of traditional Chinese medicine combined with acupuncture in the treatment of ovulation dysfunction infertility. Method: 96 patients conforming to standards were divided randomly into two groups. Patients in the treatment group (n = 48) were treated by TCM regulating menstrual period method and given acupuncture. Patients (n = 48) in the control group were treated by TCM regulating menstrual period method combined with clomiphene citrate (CC). The ovulation rate, basal body temperature (BBT) recovery rate, pregnancy rate, incidence of mild ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS), and symptom score in traditional Chinese medicine of each group was recorded after treatment; each group was compared before and after treatment. Results: comparison of ovulation rate and BBT recovery rate after treatment showed no statistical significance (P > 0.05). Comparison of pregnancy rate, Chinese medicine symptom score and mild OHSS incidence after treatment indicated statistical significance (P < 0.05). Conclusion: the regulating menstrual period method of traditional Chinese medicine combined with acupuncture has a good effect in the treatment of ovulation dysfunction infertility, and can significantly improve pregnancy rates and alleviate clinical symptoms, reduce the incidence of mild OHSS, and is much safer and more reliable.
