Abstract

Cervical spondylosis radiculopathy (CSR) is one of the common types of cervical spondylosis. The clinical features are neck, shoulder and back pain, and also radiated pain, numbness and powerlessness of the upper limbs and fingers. The effective therapies for this disease include operation, traction, massage, acupuncture, Chinese herbal decoction, acupoints injection therapy, electroacupuncture (EA) and EA with other treatments. It has been reported that EA treatment is very effective for this condition, but with lots of acupoints, varying stimulus and operation methods. The purpose of this study is to review the traditional Chinese medicine literature and examine the use of EA treatment on CSR.
