Abstract

Clinically, up to 75% of stroke survivors experience sequelae. Spastic hemiplegia is one of the most common and challenging sequelae. It is therefore important to prevent postapoplectic spasticity for the sake of rehabilitation. Currently, main therapies include functional training, physical therapy, medication, and surgery. However, these therapies are expensive and may cause adverse reactions. Acupuncture is low-cost, convenient, and effective in this regard. This study employed acupuncture plus motor therapy for postapoplectic spastic hemiplegia.
