Practice makes the perfect moxa treatment

Abstract

Among practitioners in Japan it is said that after you have rolled 1,000 cones you have made a good start. Moxa is treated as an equal to needles and not their bastard companion. In Japan, unlike elsewhere, one must have a national license to even practice moxa. When a student graduates from acupuncture school they take a national licensing exam for acupuncture and another for moxa. You can pass one and fail the othr. That's how much emphasis is put on the practice of moxa.
